'NCIS: New Orleans' Star Agrees to Pay Child Support, Alimony in Divorce Case
Zoe McLellan, one of the stars of the hit network TV show “NCIS: New Orleans,” recently reached an agreement with her ex-spouse in their divorce case.
McLellan and Jean Pierre Gillain were married in 2012 and had one child, a son, Sebastian, who is now two years old. The marriage between McLellan and Gillain lasted approximately three years before ending in 2015. Since that time, the former couple has been working toward a resolution. Since the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement, the divorce had the potential to get very messy, with Gillain seeking spousal support and child support.
When the couple initially announced their split, the first thing they needed to do was figure out a custody arrangement. This was not easy, as Gillain lives in Los Angeles, California while McLellan films her TV show in New Orleans, Louisiana. Gillain requested joint custody and strongly objected to any custody arrangement that required him to travel from LA to New Orleans just to visit his son. Ultimately, the couple worked things out and came up with a visiting schedule that allows both parents to play a role in their child’s life.
Once the child custody situation had been resolved, the ex-couple needed to figure out a way to divide property and other assets, determine a sufficient amount of child support, and decide how much alimony needed to be paid.
McLellan eventually agreed to pay slightly more than $4,000 per month in child support. She also said that she would pay spousal support – but only as a one-time payment, not as an ongoing arrangement. So Gillain will receive a payment of $30,000 for spousal support once the divorce is finalized.
