'Real Housewives' Star Bethenny Frankel Finalizes Her Contentious Divorce
After a lengthy negotiation and settlement process, reality television star Bethenny Frankel has finalized her divorce.
Frankel is perhaps best known as one of the stars of the hit Bravo reality TV series “Real Housewives of New York.” Frankel and her ex-spouse, Jason Hoppy, got married in 2010. The couple eventually split up, with Frankel filing for divorce in 2013. However, the divorce proceedings were extended several times and ended up taking more than three years to be resolved.
The divorce process was made more complicated by the fact that Frankel and Hoppy have a child together. A few weeks after the couple got married in 2010, Frankel gave birth to their daughter. The former couple’s child is now six years old and remains a priority for both Frankel and Hoppy. The couple previously reached an amicable agreement over child custody, with the mother and father agreeing to a co-parenting arrangement that allows for shared custody of their daughter.
The divorce was recently confirmed by the divorce attorney for Hoppy, who spoke with the media and said that the situation had “finally been resolved.” The divorce lawyer also noted that Hoppy, Frankel’s ex-husband, was “thrilled that this chapter of his life is over.” Frankel’s divorce lawyer also spoke to the media and mirrored Hoppy’s sentiments, saying that Frankel “is ecstatic that this long chapter is over.”
At this time, there have not been any reports of the exact details of the divorce settlement reached by Frankel and Hoppy. The divorce attorney for Hoppy did state that his client “is extremely pleased with the settlement that was reached.”
Meanwhile, Frankel was busy promoting her book, I Suck at Relationships So You Don’t Have To: 10 Rules for Not Screwing Up Your Happily Ever After. In a bit of an ironic twist on the finalized divorce, Frankel recently promoted the book online via her Twitter account and actually highlighted a part of the book that tells the reader how to get a former spouse or significant back after breaking up.
