Stranger than Fiction: Millionaire Rapper Successfully Sues Baby’s Mother for Child Support
Hip-hop star and actor Ludacris has successfully sued for sole custody of his daughter as well as $2,000 per month in child support from the child’s mother. In what can charitably be described as a “head-scratcher,” the rapper, who has an estimated net worth of $25 million, won custody of his daughter and child support from Tamika Fuller earlier this month. Ludacris, whose real name is Christopher Bridges, has argued that since the death of Fast and Furious co-star Paul Walker, there has been a delay in the film release which has created a liquidity problem for the rapper.
The decision marks the end of a bitter dispute during which Fuller initially demanded $15,000 in child support and claimed he was an absentee father who initially wanted her to have an abortion. The judge threw out Fuller’s request and determined that she was in no position to take care of the child. The court records are sealed, so the public won’t be able to know the details of the financial arrangement determined by the judge. The entire story does create doubt about the skills of Fuller’s legal representation. Her request for child support was not only turned down but she now has to pay a millionaire child support?
